Michael McDowell Fights Motor Issues in Montreal while Tomy Drissi gets a top 20 in First NASCAR Race
Press Release
In front of a huge crowd Sunday, the No. 81 MacDonald Motorsports car steadily moved up to eventually be in the top ten around the halfway mark. Michael kept the car clean while using his road course skills to advance threw the field. After the No. 22 missed a shift, Michael got into his back end and damaged the front nose of his car. This resulted in overheating problems, and ultimately, the 2nd blown motor for the weekend and a DNF.
Tomy Drissi drove the “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps” No. 82 Dodge Charger for MacDonald Motorsports this weekend. This was his first ever start in a stock car and he made the best of it. Tomy drove threw the field to be running as high as 13th before a spin put him back to where he started. Driving smooth and smart, the 2009 Trans-Am Champion made his way back into the top-twenty, avoided the high attrition of the race, and brought the car home in 18th place.
The team had high hopes for this final road race of the season in team owner Randy MacDonald’s home country. Unfortunately, motor problems plagued them all weekend. Randy would like to thank Akhavan Supermarkets for the support in the race. Find them on the web at www.akhavanfood.com.
MacDonald Motorsports heads south this weekend on the way to Hampton, Georgia and Atlanta Motor Speedway. The Great Clips 300 will air live on ESPN2 at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday night.
