Marc Davis / R3 Motorsports Dover 200 Nationwide Race Preview
Press Release
Driver Marc Davis will be moving forward this weekend at Dover and putting red in the rearview. He will make his 2010 Nationwide Series Debut there, after 8 total starts in 2008 and 2009. He also returns to his “home track,” as Dover is close to his family home in Silver Spring, Maryland. The R3 Motorsports #23 Chevrolet also dons the sponsor Howard University Radio WHUR 96.3FM from the DC area.
Close to Home:
“I’m excited to be able to race so close to home – many of family members and friends will be cheering me on. I’ll be going to WHUR to do an in-studio interview on Wednesday, so it’s always nice to come back home,” he said. “Dover is one of my favorite tracks. It’s crazy fast, and the concrete is really unforgiving. Drivers have to come so close to that breaking point in order to finish well – so I’m looking forward to working with the R3 team on a great finish!”
Driver Stats:
*Davis’ last Dover Nationwide Series race was in 2009 with Todd Braun in a Toyota.
*Davis has four overall starts at Dover – two in the Nationwide Series and two in K&N Pro Series East.
*His best finish was in 2008 at the K&N Pro Series East race in a Joe Gibbs Toyota, finishing 2nd.
*The Dover 200 will be Davis’ second start in a Chevrolet – the first being with Joe Gibbs Racing in the 2007 K&N Pro Series East race, where he finished 7th.
