Laguna Hills, CA, October 21, 2010 – The Smartphone technology behind apps that prevent distracted driving and avoid auto accidents, Drive Reply™ from Iconosys, Inc., will sponsor MacDonald Motorsports Team 81 and NASCAR driver Michael McDowell at the Nationwide Series 5 Hour Energy 250 at Gateway International Raceway on Saturday, October 23rd in Madison, IL.   In an ongoing promotion, McDowell’s Dodge Charger will prominently display the Drive Reply™ logo on the car.

“MacDonald Motorsports is again very pleased to continue our partnership with Iconosys, Inc. and to have Drive Reply™ on my car for this weekend’s 5-Hour Energy 250,” commented McDowell. “It’s going to be another huge weekend for NASCAR and equally as important, we are sending a special message to racing fans everywhere as well as my Facebook friends and my followers on Twitter: distracted driving is highly dangerous so don’t text and drive.”

Iconosys, Inc. is a leader in the development of innovative mobile and stationary telecommunications applications and technologies. Introduced earlier this year, Drive Reply™ reduces battery consumption by up to 50 percent and offers simple, focused driver-attendant software that helps protect users, and ultimately, save lives by promoting safe, distraction-free driving.  Drive Reply™ is the only product that automatically responds to calls and texts with a fully customizable response while allowing the driver to stay focused on the road.

“We are very fortunate to be partnering with MacDonald Motorsports Team 81 and week after week, sending a potentially life-saving message through one of NASCAR’s most talented drivers,” commented Wayne Irving II, CEO and co-founder of Iconosys. “Motorists everywhere need to understand the significance and responsibility of staying focused on the road at all times and apps powered by Drive Reply™ can help with that.”

The download costs $16.95 for a lifetime license, and is available for purchase at www.drivereply.net for Windows Mobile, BlackBerry, and Android.  It is also available at Android Marketplace and BlackBerry AppWorld directly on your phone. The phone is silenced yet continues to run in the background, communicating with callers and texters, letting them know you are focused on your primary task – driving.

DriveReply Features Include:

  • Auto reply to inbound Voice Calls and SMS messages while driving
  • Enhanced spam and shortcode filtering
  • No-Reply List: those persons that the driver chooses to exclude from his/her auto reply list and who do not receive an automated response

About MacDonald Motorsports

While the company carries his last name, owner Randy MacDonald named it not after himself, but after the family that has continually offered support in his racing career. His father, Merrill “Doc” MacDonald, and mother Pat were there even before the foundation of the company, making provisions for Randy’s racing dream early in his life. After Randy began racing professionally and established his own company, his entire family continues to support him. His wife Gina helps with bookkeeping and finances, mother Pat helps with administrative duties and sister Teri helps with marketing and public relations and has, at times, taken on driving and spotting duties. Randy’s father Doc helped him establish business relationships and carry out other important functions of the team until finishing his own race in March of 2007. Despite his death, Doc’s impact on the team will not end, as MacDonald Motorsports continues on his honor and memory.
