MOORESVILLE, NC (November 17, 2010)— This weekend, Rusty Wallace Racing (RWR) and team sponsors 5-Hour Energy, Avery Graphics and South Point Hotel & Casino will proudly launch a salute to America’s men and women in uniform, during the NASCAR Nationwide Series season finale in Homestead, FL.

As part of Avery Graphics’ “Supercast My Ride” design contest, the No. 66 5-Hour Energy car, driven by Steve Wallace, will feature a special digitally-printed vinyl wrap, titled “Salute the Troops.” The scheme, designed by contest winner Daniel Wayne Logue of Lincoln, NE, is fashioned to appear like a World War II-era fighter, complete with nose art and the teeth made famous by Claire Lee Chennault’s “Flying Tigers.”

Additionally, 5-Hour Energy, South Point Hotel & Casino and Rusty Wallace Racing have combined to create a unique charity auction, with all proceeds benefitting the USO of North Carolina. Up for auction at gomotorbids.com on December 1 is a package consisting of:

The one of a kind pit wall banner used by Wallace’s No. 66 team in Homestead. The banner is fashioned in the theme of the “Salute the Troops” car and will come autographed by Rusty Wallace, Steve Wallace and Brendan Gaughan, driver of RWR’s No. 62 car A VIP experience for two people at the 2011 NASCAR weekend in Las Vegas, NV, including two honorary pit crew positions on Wallace’s No. 66 5-Hour Energy team for the Nationwide Series event, two VIP tickets to the Sunday Sprint Cup Series race, four nights stay in luxurious accommodations at the South Point Hotel and Casino and dinner for two at South Point’s nationally-renowned restaurant, Michael’s.

A one-year supply of 5-Hour Energy, America’s leading 2-ounce energy shot, for two people.

Said RWR team owner, Rusty Wallace, “We owe our very freedom to the men and women in uniform that have given so much to defend our country and its ideals. Our entire team—including our great sponsors 5-Hour Energy, Avery Graphics and South Point—can’t thank them enough for the job they do, day in and day out. Hopefully this program will help us give back—at least a little—for all they’ve done for us.”

Noted John Falkenbury, President, USO of North Carolina, “NASCAR was born in North Carolina and the USO of NC is home to the oldest, continuously serving center in the world – both are institutions that have deep ties to those warriors that protect our freedoms every day. Rusty Wallace Racing’s generous and selfless support to the USO of NC and the over quarter million service members and their families it serves reflects the quiet philanthropy that the Wallace family exhibits every day. They are true patriots.”
