Join Mike Wallace and JD Motorsports for a successful 2011 Nationwide series program
Press Release
They have the equipment, crew, intelligence, talent and tenacity on the team. Davis, sole owner of the team, isn’t your typical NASCAR owner. You will hardly ever find him standing around the hauler on race weekends.
The only thing they are lacking is the proper funding and marketing partners to make it happen.
“Johnny and I had a pretty good year considering how we funded the effort each week,” Wallace said. “We made every race (35) and did so with a good, hard working bunch of dedicated individuals. I can guarantee you there isn’t an owner in the garage who is more hands-on spending as much time under the hood and the body of the car like Johnny.
“For the 2011 season, we want to build on the success we started this past season. We have been working with successful corporations to tell them why we’re the best choice for their advertising dollars.”
Wallace is the face of the team, the one with the known name who wheels the car and is seen on TV every week.
If you’re looking for Davis, you’ll have better luck in the garage area under the hood or chassis of his No. 01 race cars than standing around in black dress pants and black shoes. He literally is a hands-on owner and a throwback to the roots of racing where you do whatever it takes.
“We do what we have to so we can race every week,” said Davis, who has owned the team since 2002. “Mike has been great to work with and we’re already looking forward to next year. Like he said, we have everything in our shop that’s needed to be even more competitive in 2011.
“Like so many others, we’re lacking the needed marketing partners to be that much better. We had some great partners on the car this past year, but they could only afford a few races. That’s one thing about us; we’re definitely more affordable than some of these other teams because our overhead isn’t as high.”
With a driver like Wallace, you have the natural marketing spokesperson that won’t hesitate to go the extra distance for their marketing partners. And, with Davis as the owner, you know exactly who is working on the cars to make them better.
“I love working with corporations and meeting all their people,” Wallace said. “I am first and foremost a driver. But, when not in the firesuit, I’m constantly looking at how we can make our team better for everyone involved.
“Personally, I think we’re one of the best for a small, independent team when it comes to those areas. Trust me; let me prove to you how good we can be in all those areas.”
