ASA Condolences to the Harry Davis Family
Press Release
Advertisment

The American Speed Association expresses its deep condolences to the family of Harry Davis, father of Marc Davis. Harry passed away unexpectedly this morning at the age of 62.

For the past several months, Harry worked day and night preparing the Marc Davis Motorsports team for their upcoming trip to the ASA Transcontinental Free State 500 event on January 31, 2010 at the Phakisa Freeway Circuit in Welkom, Free State, South Africa.

“He has worked on this deal for so long for us to compete in this event in South Africa,” Marc Davis said this afternoon. “We are still planning on going over and we are going to win this race for him. My entire race season will be dedicated to him.”

Marc Davis Motorsports will field the #96 for Marc and the #19 for Tiff Daniels at the ASA Free State 500 event.

“This is a real shocker to me and everyone else who has been planning this event,” Dennis Huth, ASA President said. “Harry was a great person to work with and I can’t express the enthusiasm he had for our event over in South Africa. He was very excited that Marc was going to be going over and racing in this event. His passion showed in our phone conversations, his e-mails with myself and the ASA staff. The Free State 500 will be dedicated to Mr. Harry Davis.”
