Scotts, the world’s largest marketer of branded consumer lawn and garden products, joined the BMS family in 2009 as sponsor of the March Nationwide Series event, the Scotts Turf Builder 300, as well as the Scotts EZ Seed Showdown. The Nationwide event is one of the most popular on the NASCAR circuit.

“The Scotts Company has enjoyed the association we’ve had the past two years with Bristol Motor Speedway and we’re very pleased and proud to announce that we’ll be back with them in 2011,” said Jim Shertzer, Scotts Brand Manager. “We had an absolutely amazing experience as a sponsor of the race last year and we know this weekend’s Scotts Turf Builder 300 and Scotts EZ Seed Showdown will be just as special.

Carl Edwards, who sports the Scotts colors on his Sprint Cup car, also is excited about Scotts’ continuing relationship with BMS, one of his favorite tracks.

“Scotts was on board my race car for my first win at Atlanta,” said Edwards.  “They have been great to work with from every aspect. From the business side and just as people, they’re great to be associated with from top to bottom. The company is run by people who are passionate about their business and passionate about racing.

“I don’t think there’s a better fit than Scotts being a partner with Bristol Motor Speedway. That’s an exciting race, that Nationwide race. I’ve won it once and was proud to do it. Hopefully, we can win it again for them.”

Bristol Motor Speedway vice-president of marketing and sale Jerry Caldwell believes Scotts has found the perfect home for their brand.

The Scotts Turf Builder 300 is set for Saturday, March 20 at 2:30 p.m., with the Scotts EZ Seed Showdown taking the green flag at 6 p.m. Tickets are still available for the doubleheader, starting at $45. Tickets may be purchased by calling the BMS ticket office at 423-BRISTOL (274-7865).
