Press Release
In 2009, Andrew was the first driver to earn the prestigious “Golden Wheel Award” as the winner of the inaugural Humpy’s Heroes Development Program. He started racing at age 8 and won his first championship at 9. Since those early days, Andrew has racked up over 200 wins, the 2009 Georgia Legends Road Course Championship, the 2009 Georgia Legends Dirt Championship, as well as the 2008 Legends National Championship.
Smith comments, “I am looking forward to the opportunity to take this next step in my career. I was very comfortable in the car during our test session, and I know that I will have proven equipment from the Spraker Racing operation.” The #37 team hopes to capitalize on their past experience at the Greenville-Pickens facility. Owner Jeff Spraker states: “Andrew has a strong short-track background and this track should be the perfect match for that experience. We’re looking forward to working with him this year as he runs for Rookie of the Year in this competitive series.”
