USARacing Forms Promotional Agreement with Feature Film Red Dirt Rising
Press Release
Red Dirt Rising is a feature film about the origins of stock car racing. The story follows the lives of three young men who come of age to find escape from life’s challenges on the track, ultimately shaping the future of their families and stock car racing during the Fightin’ Forties.
Dylan is a country music artist that grew up in rural North Carolina and created the song Carolina Moonshine, which is arguably the lead sound track of the movie. He has had the opportunity to open/tour with such artists as Rascal Flatts, Montgomery Gentry, Pat Green and Trace Adkins.
“The USAR Pro Cup Series is all about stock car racing on the grass roots race tracks of America,” said Larry Camp, USARacing Pro Cup Series Managing Partner. “As the first major national touring series to return to the legendary North Wilkesboro Speedway on October 3, we’ve been working with Alton McBride and Terri Parsons to create a great experience for the fans on that weekend.
“Out of those discussions came an introduction to recording artist Matt Dylan and Red Dirt Rising promoter Todd Morris. It didn’t take long for us to figure out that the movie, Matt’s songs and the Pro Cup Series had a lot of common ground. So we’re happy to announce this relationship,” Camp added. “Our marketing slogan ‘Where Real Racing Lives’ and the themes of the movie and Matt’s songs dovetail nicely.”
The Red Dirt Rising world premiere is scheduled for Saturday, May 15 at North Wilkesboro Speedway. A full day of activities are planned including a special appearance by the USARacing Pro Cup Series Rockingham 200 race winner, a concert by Matt Dylan, and a 20-lap race by the Legendary Flathead Ford Racing Association.
