HICKORY, N.C. (May 1, 2010) – Saturday night at Hickory Motor Speedway Caleb Holman found himself in victory lane once again, leading the last 14 laps of the WIX Filters 250.

The race weekend started on Friday for Henderson Motorsports, testing all day and struggling to find the speed they needed.

“We came up yesterday [Friday] and were awful when we started testing and just kept working and working,” said Holman. “We absolutely worked ourselves to the bone to try to get this car to drive. Of course, Clay was just in another time zone. I don’t think we could have worked long enough to get to him.”

After a decent morning of practice Holman qualified seventh, trying control a tight handling Food Country Chevrolet.

When the green flag fell for the running of the WIX Filters 250 Holman found a nice ridding spot, settling in the eighth position for a while. After several cautions and pitting for fuel he gained five spots on pit road, coming out in third.

On lap 145 pit road was a busy place when most lead lap cars pitted for tires. The Food Country crew struggled a bit on pit road resulting in the loss of two positions sending Holman back out in fifth.

Holman worked his way up to second passing Logan Ruffin. Then Lucas Ransone and A.J. Frank got together resulting in both of them heading to the back of the field. Holman held down the second position with Clay Rogers leading the way up until lap 237 when Rogers fell off the pace with a blown motor.

“They told me on the radio that he’d been spewing water,” said Holman. “I hate it for him; I do. He’s a good guy; a great competitor. It’s absolutely a shame that he didn’t win the race, but I’m going to take it. I’m not going to give it back. They were the class of the field without a doubt.”

Holman gladly took over the lead and held off the #31 of Logan Ruffin to bring home his third career USARacing Pro Cup victory and his second straight win of 2010.

“It feels good,” said Holman in victory lane. “When your luck finally turns around, and I tell you, it isn’t luck. I’ve got to give all the credit to the Lord Jesus Christ. We had a great team and everything was put together great, but a few weeks ago I got to the end of my rope at Gresham and I said, ‘Man, what do I have to do?’ I read a verse in the Bible that said if you put your priorities straight, the Lord will add all these other things unto you. I just decided I was going to do that and, man, we haven’t lost a race since.”

The USARacing Pro Cup Series takes a weekend off and then they are back at Rockingham Speedway on May 15 for the Carolina 200 where Caleb Holman, along with Henderson Motorsports, will be shooting for three in a row!
