ROCKINGHAM, N.C. (May 15, 2010) – Brandon McReynolds, son of championship crew chief and TV commentator Larry McReynolds, dominated the UARA STARS 75 Saturday morning at Rockingham Speedway.

“It was fun” quipped McReynolds after the race. “We got to move around a lot. We were sliding around – it was just how it played out.” Asked about running close with runner-up Paddy Rodenbeck, McReynolds added: “he gave me all the room in the world.

“I’d be about the stupidest 18-year-old in the world if I didn’t talk to Larry McReynolds,” joked Brandon after a question about how often he talks with his father.

Patiently taking the lead from pole winner Paddy Rodenbeck early in the race, McReynolds drove away from the field to head the pack under the checkered flag by nearly 20 car lengths. “It wasn’t exactly what I came here for,” commented Rodenbeck after the race. “We’ll just have to come back in October, but we had a good day overall,” added Rodenbeck. “It’s definitely a driver’s track – I think maybe we overdrove a little bit early,” he concluded.

Rodenbeck held off a challenge from Lee Tissot who gained the most positions, moving from 13th at the start to third at the finish. “We had a good run – the car just did crazy stuff on us in qualifying, but we left it alone and I’m glad we did,” said TIssot.

Points leader Coleman Pressley took a close-fought fifth ahead of Darrell Wallace and Kyle Grissom after running the Nationwide Series race last week at Darlington.

Racing returns to the one-mile Rockingham Speedway on October 9, 2010 with the running of the ARCA American 200.
