Caleb Holman / Henderson Motorsports Team Release
Press Release
Holman was within the top five during both practice sessions on Friday, feeling confident about his car. He then qualified third behind pole sitter, Clay Rogers and Jeff Agnew.
When the green flag flew for the Carolina 200 presented by Black’s Tire Service Holman found a nice riding spot within the top ten. After the caution flew, Holman brought the Food Country Chevrolet down pit road for gas on lap 50; hoping pit strategy would put Henderson Motorsports in contention for the win in the end.
Then shortly after the green flag flew again Holman came over the radio saying he thought that the motor had dropped a cylinder. On lap 62 coming down the front stretch the motor let go with a cloud of smoke trailing behind the Food Country Chevrolet, which ended their day.
“I just hate it. There’s nothing you can go about a blown motor. You can’t fix it, go back out and collect points,” commented Holman. “We’re running towards our first championship this year, and this isn’t the way it’s going to happen.”
The USARacing Pro Cup Series makes their next top on May 29th at Langley Speedway for the HAMPTON, VA 250.
