USARacing Series, formerly known as the Hooters Pro Cup Series, to race at South Boston June 12

SOUTH BOSTON, VA. — The USARacing Pro Cup Series, formerly known as the Hooters Pro Cup Series, will invade South Boston Speedway for the first of two appearances in 2010 on Saturday, June 12, for the running of the Strutmasters.com 250.

Also scheduled for action on June 12 will be the competitors in the touring Rolling Thunder Modified Series, who will be in action for a 75-lap event.

The Rolling Thunder Modified drivers will hit the track first on June 12 at 7 p.m. The 250-lap USARacing Pro Cup Series will get the green flag at the conclusion of the Rolling Thunder Modified event.

Clay Rogers will enter the June 12 event at South Boston Speedway as the point leader in the USARacing Pro Cup Series. John Gibson sits second in the standings. He trails Rogers by 54 points and is only six points ahead of third-place Caleb Holman.

Jeff Agnew is fourth in the standings and is 17 points behind Holman and 13 points ahead of fifth-place Benny Gordon.

The USARacing Pro Cup Series will also be in action at South Boston Speedway on Nov. 6, for the running of the USARacing Pro Cup Series Championship 300 presented by Strutmasters.com

Practice for the USARacing Pro Cup Series will begin at noon on June 12. The first practice will last 45 minutes and will be followed by a second practice session at 1:25 p.m.

The Rolling Thunder Modified drivers will practice at 12:55 p.m. and again at 2:20 p.m.

Grandstand gates will open on June 12 at 3 p.m. Qualifying time trials for the Rolling Thunder Modified drivers will get cranked up at 3:30 p.m. and will be followed by USARacing Pro Cup Series qualifying at 4:30 p.m.

A Fan Appreciation Session, which will include the competitors in the USARacing Pro Cup Series, will be held at 5:45 p.m.

Advance tickets are on sale for the two feature races on Saturday, June 12, and are priced at $15 each until Friday, June 11 at 5 p.m. The ticket price will increase to $20 on race day.
