Trey Mitchell Continues Success Streak
Press Release“Fired Up for Firecracker 125 at Greenville-Pickens”
Mooresville, NC 6/28/10- The signs of change are easy to see amongst the Trey Mitchell Racing team as they made it back to back top ten finishes in PASS South series competition with his seventh place finish in the Southern Sizzler 150 at the Orange County Speedway this weekend. In the process, Mitchell qualified within the top ten in back to back events for the first time all season; a department that has been the team’s weak point in the past.
“I can’t tell you how good things are going for me and this entire Trey Mitchell Racing team right now. We are really firing on all eight cylinders, Gary Crooks, my crew chief is giving me quality racecars every time we unload and our communication is really coming around which is allowing us to tune the car to the track conditions and its showing with these top ten finishes,” praised Mitchell. “Ace was a real tough place to race at and it’s no secret that Orange County isn’t my favorite track on the schedule so to leave both those tracks with top ten finishes was a good feeling.”
Mitchell will now go from his least favorite track on the 2010 PASS South schedule to his favorite in the form of the half mile paper clip shaped Greenville-Pickens Speedway in Greenville, South Carolina. The team will have just four days to get their #47 Magnum’s Oilfield Service Ford prepared for the 125 lap event on July 2nd.
“We only race at Greenville once this year so this has been a race I’ve had circled on the schedule all year-long. I love that place, the history and the style of racing it puts on is awesome. Everyone says it’s a love it or hate it type track and it doesn’t seem like many people love it but I have since the first time I went there,” said Mitchell.
This same race a season ago, Mitchell had his best chance of capturing his first career super late model win as he and Corey Williams came from the rear of the field to battling for the win after racing around the high side of the competition, something almost unheard of around the ultra flat half mile oval. The two made contact with just two laps to go ending their run and what many deemed as one of the best PASS South series races ever up to that time. So with a shot at redemption and an excited race team going to a track that has been good to them in the past, one can bet Trey Mitchell will be a factor to contend with at Greenville-Pickens.
