Same Story, Different Track as Bryan Ortiz, BD Racing with Sterling Marlin Prepare for Nashville Superspeedway
Press Release“Sunoco National Tour Rookie anxious for Music City Challenge”

track for Sunoco National Tour rookie Bryan Ortiz. Every track on the
2010 schedule has been “new” to the talented Puerto Rican driver, so
this weekend at the Nashville 150 will be more of the same. Well, let
me correct myself. There will be several different issues that Ortiz
will address this weekend.
From New Smyrna Speedway to Rockingham, Springport, Michigan to
O’Reilly Raceway Park in Indianapolis, The Milwaukee Mile to Nashville
Superspeedway – every Sunoco National Tour track has been “new” for
Bryan Ortiz. However, the talented Puerto Rican competitor has met
every challenge head on in his rookie season.
Having to adjust his driving style from a one-mile track to a short
track is nothing new for Ortiz, but this week at Nashville, he’ll face
several “new” issues. The 1.333-mile Lebanon, Tennessee track will be
the first concrete track for the Sunoco National Tour this season.
Plus, Nashville Superspeedway will be the largest track on the Tour and
the home track for Sterling Marlin, owner of BD Racing. Marlin, a
two-time Daytona 500 winner, is a NASCAR legend from the Nashville
area; therefore, Ortiz should have plenty of fans supporting him in the
stands this weekend.
“I’m thrilled to be racing at Nashville this weekend,” Ortiz stated.
“It’s a very big and fast track that we give me a great chance to race
on a superspeedway. I’ve never seen it (Nashville Superspeedway), but I
know my race team will be prepared. All the people that I have
supporting me and being with a team like the one I race for is just
awesome.”
“Every person on our BD Racing with Sterling Marlin team is on the same
page as I am,” Ortiz continued. “We all want to win, and that’s our
plan every time we go to the track. In the past, we haven’t had much
luck, but this weekend is going to be a turnaround of luck for us. I
feel like my #40 Camaro will be at the top of the chart at the end of
the day.”
Ortiz comes to Nashville from the Milwaukee Mile where the rookie
earned his first career AR Bodies Fast Time Award. Unfortunately,
mechanical issues resulted in a ninth-place finish. However, Ortiz
earned a second place at Rockingham and third at New Smyrna Speedway
earlier in the season. Entering Nashville, Ortiz ranks second in the
overall 2010 Sunoco National Tour point standings, trailing leader
Brent Downey by only 44 (554-510). Ortiz leads the SNT Rookie standings
by 33 over second-place Tanner Berryhill (510-477).
