Caleb Holman / Henderson Motorsports Concord Speedway Post Race Report
Press Release
Race day started off great being the fastest in both practices and clinching the pole with a lap time of 16.836. Holman then went on to dominate the first half of the race up until lap 127 when the first caution of the night came out.
He then brought the Food Country Chevrolet down pit road for gas and an adjustment. Holman would restart in the fourth position. Then when the next caution came out he came back down pit road for tires.
Again he restarted fourth. The battle for the top spot was heating up as the top runners, Rogers, Agnew, Morgan and Holman approached lap 200.
Holman was then attempting to make the pass for the lead from Rogers coming off turn four, when Agnew dove to the inside and made it three wide down the front straightaway to take over the top spot. Holman then proceeded to make his way around Rogers and settled in the second spot for the night, unable to catch Agnew who had pulled out to a straightaway lead.
“It all came down to getting by Clay down there,” said Holman. “I figured he would be really good when I got to him. I could get under him. I just couldn’t quite make the pass. I got down here and got on the rumble strip and the car took off. I had to let off and both him and I ran up the track.”
Up next on the grid for the second race of the championship series is the American Freedom Spectacular at Bristol Motor Speedway on Sept. 11th where Caleb Holman is looking to defend his win from 2008. For more info on the American Freedom Spectacular please visit www.bristolmotorspeedway.com.
