GRIFFIN, GA (September 15, 2010) – Max Gresham has had more than his share of frustration recently in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series.

In his last K&N outing, Gresham was in line for a top-five finish only to have a cut tire in the late stages of the race saddle him with a 12th-place finish in the American Fence Association 150 Presented By Mayfield Ice Creamier at Gresham Motorsports Park.

Meanwhile, Gresham was in the top-10 at Lee Speedway in the NASCAR K&N 125 on July 30 when he got spun out on the final lap and finished 16th.

The two subpar finishes have dropped Gresham from fourth to seventh in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East season standings. According to the driver of the No. 18 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota, it’s time to reverse the trend.

“We’ve had great runs that ended in failure,” said Gresham. “We’re just going to have to try to recover what we lost and go out and win the final two races of the season. I’m totally confident in my Joe Gibbs Racing team. We definitely have the people and the team to do it. We just have to get the right combination of performance and luck.”

Gresham is hoping his luck will change for the better this Friday in the New Hampshire 125 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Last year, in his first-ever appearance on a one-mile track, Gresham and his No. 18 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota qualified on the outside pole and finished ninth. Earlier this year in the New England 125 NKNPSE event, Gresham qualified third only to suffer two flat left-rear tires and finish a disappointing 21st.

This time, the 17-year-old Woodward Academy student will be looking to do better.

“We’ve had a great cars and I’ve learned a lot,” said Gresham of his NHMS experiences. “We qualified second last fall and honestly, we were really surprised we sat on the outside pole. We didn’t practice that well, but we got a good lap in qualifying and backed it up with a good run in the race. This spring, we got two flat tires and that pretty much killed any chance we had of a top finish.

“I think Friday’s race should be a lot more fun,” Gresham continued. “I’ve competed in two races at New Hampshire now and I know a lot more about the track and how to race there. We just have to be able to put all the pieces together. If we do, I’m confident we can get a top-five finish or a win there Friday.”

Friday’s New Hampshire 125 will take the green flag at 5 p.m. Eastern Time. The event will be shown on a taped-delayed basis on SPEED on Thursday, September 16.
