Tim Schendel Heads To Indiana To Race In The CRA Racing Series This Weekend
Press Release
Advertisment

“A new series, a new track – but not unfamiliar to Schendel”

Sparta, WI, September 15, 2010 — As the ASA Kwik Trip Midwest Tour presented by ECHO Outdoor Power Equipment and grandstay.net takes a couple of weeks hiatus before the last race of the season, ASA Midwest Touring star Tim Schendel and the Iron Eagle Racing team are not! Schendel and the team are headed to Clermont, Indiana where they have entered the Welch & Wilson Motorsports Rock n Race 100 presented by Gas America at O’Reilly Raceway Park on Saturday, September 18.

The race is on the schedule of the CRA Super Series. The Champion Racing Series is a Midwestern touring series for super late model stock cars similar to the ASA Midwest Series. The difference is that the CRA Super Series runs a four barrel carburetor while the ASA Midwest Series requires a two barrel carburetor. The series runs races in the southern states of Georgia, Alabama, and North Carolina and in the midwest states of Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio. And although the series and the O’Reilly Raceway Park are not in Schendel’s regular series, it is not unfamiliar territory to Schendel.

“We have raced some of the guys in the CRA Series before and I have raced at the O’Reilly Raceway Park before.” Schendel said. “I raced a truck there a couple of years ago and it really is a fun track. The guys in this series are tough drivers. It’s competitive but I think we will have a good car and hopefully, a good finish!”

Forty-one drivers have entered the race this weekend. Four of them are fellow ASA Midwest Tour drivers — Ross Kenseth, Griffin McGrath, Blake Brown and Michael Bilderback. Schendel’s familiar “21” number on his TexPar Chevrolet will change to “27” for this race only.

The drivers take the track at 1 p.m. for the first practice on Saturday with qualifying at 4:30 p.m. and racing slated to begin at 7 p.m. All ticket holders will be eligible to win a 2011 Ford Fiesta. Ticket sales proceeds will benefit the Meals on Wheels of Hancock County.

Schendel is sponsored by TexPar Energy, Cote Construction, Shades Body Studio, Leo’s Upper Dells Bar, Tim Neubauer Trucking, The Rite Spot, Wehr’s Machine, Wehr’s Chevrolet, Ripp Distributing, Bolden Bros. Masonry, Dean’s Satellite, Evans Printing, Fastax, Klotz Lubricants, Tesar Engineering, Festival Foods in Mauston and Marr Promotions .
