It has been a roller coaster of a season for Brandon Sweet and his Freeman Racing Enterprises team from Watertown, New York. From the initial highs of racing in the USAR Pro Cup tour, to the lows of having to step away from the series due to lack of funding, Brandon and the FRE team have remained strong, and now their perseverance and hard work has landed them with a partnership with a well established business in serving Northern and Central New York State.

Freeman Racing Enterprises, and driver Brandon Sweet have announced a partnership today with Jreck Subs for the remainder of the 2010 DIRTcar Sportsman season. This will include the 39th running of Super DIRT Week at the New York State Fairgrounds on October 5th-10th, as well as the remaining events at Chapman’s Can Am Motorsports Park, and the rest of the MR. DIRTcar Sportsman Series races.

“We are very excited to have Jreck Subs on board with us at FRE, we look forward to a lengthy relationship with them”, says FRE team owner Robert C. Freeman III. “Jreck Subs has been a long time fixture in the North Country and is a perfect fit for the direction of our team”.

Jreck Subs is certainly no stranger to auto racing in the area. At one time, Jreck Subs was the primary sponsor on Tim McCreadie’s very first Modified back in 1994. McCreadie has went on to establish himself as one of the best ever to get behind the wheel of a racecar, and Brandon Sweet would love to follow that same path with Jreck Subs.

“I am really looking forward to driving the Jreck sponsored Sportsman into victory lane”, says driver Brandon Sweet”. I remember as a kid watching one of my racing heroes, Tim McCreadie drive a Jreck Sub sponsored Modified into victory lane several times”.

Jreck Subs was established in 1967 by a group of five Carthage Central High School teachers who wanted to make extra money for their families. The first sub “shop” was a converted school bus that was parked outside the U.S. Army post in Watertown, NY. Two years later, they formed a corporation called Jreck Subs Inc., The name Jreck, is simply made up of the first letter in each of the teachers names.
