Kentucky Speedway Statement Regarding the Passing of Longtime SMI Executive Jeff Byrd

“The thoughts and prayers of the entire Kentucky Speedway community are with the family of Jeff Byrd and Bristol Motor Speedway upon his passing.
“The impact of Jeff’s contributions to the growth of NASCAR, Bristol Motor Speedway and Speedway Motorsports is enormous. He will be remembered as one of the sport’s truly great race promoters.
“I will always be grateful to Jeff for reaching out to me immediately when Kentucky Speedway was purchased by Speedway Motorsports. He proved to be a great mentor, but more than that, I will cherish the friendship we so easily formed.
