Braselton, Ga – 13 year old Brandon Jones, driver of the No. 33 Rheem Chevrolet Silverado, finished his first truck race at Lanier (Ga.) National Speedway with a solid second-place finish Saturday night. 11 year old teammate Spencer Davis, driver of the No. 29 Rheem Silverado, experienced engine trouble on lap seven ending his night early.

Jones started the 25 lap event from the pole position taking the lead on the first lap until lap four when Jeff Chadwick got underneath him in turn three. Jones constantly applied pressure to the No. 20 machine of Chadwick in the corners but didn’t seem to have enough motor down the straightaways.

As the laps started winding down, Jones’ truck seemed to be getting better with spotter Cale Gale coaching him on every lap. On the last lap he made a strong run looking underneath Chadwick coming out of turn four with Chadwick winning by a half a truck length.

Jones had a great run in his first-ever race of any kind and was quick to commend his team. “I have no clue where to even start,” said Jones. “With Bubba Gale as my coach and crew chief, Cale Gale being my spotter and and all of the guys that work on my truck, this is simply amazing and I also want to thank my mom and dad for such an awesome opportunity, I can’t wait for my next race.

Next race on the schedule for Team Rheem and Gale Force will be at North Wilkesboro October 29 – 31 with Cale Gale behind the wheel of the No. 83 Rheem Modified. The No. 29 & 33 Rheem trucks will race their next event at the World Crown 300 at Gresham Motorsports Park along with Cale Gale in the No. 83 Rheem Super Late Model.
