Chuck Barnes Sr. looks to make it three in a row at the Polar Bear
Press Release
But for the Louisville, Ky. native, making that hard left off of Rockingham’s pit road into victory lane after Nov. 27’s race is going to be a little bit more difficult with former NASCAR Sprint Champion Kurt Busch joining the already stout Polar Bear 150 field.

Also entered in this year’s running are ARCA-regular Bryan Silas, Brett Hudson, last year’s runner-up and winner of the FKSSN Cherry Bomb 100 at Rockingham and J.D. Frey in a (Dale Earnhardt) Junior Motorsports Chevy Camaro. Up to 99 cars will take the green flag for the Polar Bear 150.
Despite the competition, Barnes feels like Rockingham suits his driving style and is confident in his ability to outrun the field this time around.
“The first race we ran with Frank (Kimmel Street Stock Nationals) was at Kentucky Speedway and my son set the car up,” said Barnes. “We have basically stuck with that same set up and it has worked for us.
“Rockingham is such a great track. Andy (Hillenburg) has done a great job with the place and we love coming here and racing.”
Cars take to the track on Nov. 27 for practice at 9 a.m. for practice. European-style qualifying follows at 11 a.m. The green flag goes in the air at 1 p.m. for the Polar Bear 150. Tickets are still available by calling the speedway office at 910.205.8800 or by going online to www.rockinghamspeedway.com.
