Wave Energy Drink Racing
(Cornelius, NC December 8, 2010) It was December of 2009, just one year ago when Wave Energy Drink made its heavy push into the Motorsports industry by announcing multiple Motorsports marketing programs. Those programs involved a young Carl Edwards Motorsports Protégé’ named Nick Hoffman, who at just 18 years old is a rising star in the Dirt Open Wheel Modified ranks. Also included was Wave Energy Drink driver Jimmy Phelps, a seasoned veteran in the Super Dirt Car Modified Series, driving for well-known car owners Tommy Baldwin and Al Heinke.

By far, the largest and most exciting program was that of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series team and the announcement of Wave Energy Drink partnering with Tommy Baldwin Racing (TBR) throughout the 2010 season. “It is overwhelming to look back at this past year and see the astronomical highlights of Wave’s racing programs,” said Cody Sommer, Wave Energy Drink’s Director of Motor Sports Programs. Nick Hoffman’s season began with being highlighted at the PRI Tradeshow in Orlando Florida. Nick also hit the NASCAR world in July at O’Reilly Raceway Park where he made his first ever NASCAR Camping World Truck Series start.

Jimmy Phelps continued to show his experience and ability to win in the Super Dirt Car Series, as he brought home four wins during the season, one of those wins coming at Charlotte in the World Finals where he battled closely for the National Title, coming up shy and finishing the year 2nd in the final Super Dirt Car Series points standings.

Tommy Baldwin Racing and driver Mike Bliss took Wave Energy Drink to Florida for the first time for the Daytona 500, the biggest race in NASCAR. The entire week was the climax and highlight of the 2010 season, as Tommy Baldwin Racing and Mike Bliss drove their way into the Daytona 500. The Wave/TBR partnership was a success and Wave continues to hold TBR as an opportunity in the future.

It is these experiences and stories that represent Wave Energy Drink’s presence in the Motorsports Industry, and the company hopes to build off of the strong foundation. Although Wave Energy Drink has not announced any plans as of yet for the 2011 racing season, it has been said that “nothing is out of question” as Wave was obviously pleased with all their programs in the 2010 season.
