SOUTH BOSTON, VA. — South Boston Speedway experienced another banner year of NASCAR Whelen All American Series racing action in 2010 and the accolades for the most recent campaign at the historic four-tenths mile asphalt oval will be awarded on Saturday, Jan. 15.

The annual South Boston Speedway Championship Awards Ceremony will be held on Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011. Once again this year, the awards ceremony will be held at The Prizery in South Boston.

Tickets for the awards ceremony are currently available at the South Boston Speedway office and are priced at $30.

The highlight of the annual awards ceremony will be the crowning of the 2010 South Boston Speedway division champions. Justin Johnson claimed a second straight title in the NASCAR Whelen All American Late Model Stock Car Division.

The 2011 South Boston Speedway schedule has been announced and includes 19 events at the four-tenths mile asphalt oval.

The 2011 season will get cranked up on March 12 and will continue through Oct. 22 when the NASCAR Whelen Late Model 300 will be staged at the facility.

During the 2011 season, South Boston Speedway will, once again, host its annual Independence Day celebration on July 1. That event will feature a 200-lap Late Model Stock Car Division race, along with a 100-lap Limited Sportsman event, a 50-lap Pure Stock clash and the track’s annual Fireworks Extravaganza.

Other special events on the 2011 South Boston Speedway schedule include two appearances by the touring PASS Super Late Models on May 7 and Aug. 20, an April 16 doubleheader featuring the NASCAR K&N Pro Series and the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour, and the USARacing Pro Cup Series will return on June 11.

The complete 2011 South Boston Speedway schedule can be found on the track’s Web site.

Once again this year, South Boston Speedway is offering season tickets, good for the entire 2011 racing season at the four-tenths mile asphalt oval, for only $150.
