INDIANAPOLIS (April 29, 2010) - Andretti Autosport announced today it signed 2009 A1GP World Cup of Motorsport champion Adam Carroll to drive a limited schedule of IZOD IndyCar Series events in the second half of the 2010 season.

Carroll, a native of Portadown, Northern Ireland, captured five wins, six poles and eight podiums in seven rounds on his way to winning the 2008-2009 A1GP World title for Team Ireland.

Andretti Autosport has yet to determine Carroll’s schedule or car assignment, but has committed to run the 27-year-old in the IZOD IndyCar Series this season.

Adam has won at every level he has raced at from Formula Renault Campus, Formula Ford, Formula 3, GP2 and A1GP racking up an impressive total of 41 wins, 83 podiums, 24 poles and 26 fastest laps.

In 2005, Carroll began a three-season stint in GP2 that saw him score five wins and 15 podium finishes while also logging substantial mileage as a BAR Honda F1 test driver.

Carroll made the move to A1GP as the lead driver for Team Ireland in 2008, scoring one win and four podiums that season before becoming the A1GP World Champion in 2009.
