Unfortunate Finish for a Competitive Fisher in the 94th Running of the Indy 500
Press ReleaseAfter Moving up 14 Spots in the Field, Fisher’s Day
Ended Making Slight Contact with the Turn-4 Wall

Overall, the day was headed in the right direction for the growing team. Fisher avoided many crashes on track early in the race, was extremely consistent on restarts, and the SFR crew performed five flawless pit stops. The Dollar General car was on its way to the front with the 29-year old IndyCar veteran at the wheel.
“We just got shoved up high out there in turn-4 with nowhere to go and hit the wall, which bent the right-rear suspension; there’s really not a lot of room to pass here and it’s extremely difficult to find space,” said Fisher. “We were having really good restarts, the boys were flawless which is key here, and the Dollar General car was on the ball gear-wise, but there’s just no room. It’s disappointing, but it’s racing. I’m ready to put this month in the past and move on to Texas next weekend.”
Fisher finished in the 26th position, 3 spots ahead of her starting position. The 94th running of the Indianapolis 500 will go down in the record books as the hottest race in the history of the event, with air temperatures reaching 95 degrees and track temperatures exceeding 130 degrees.
Fisher, along with teammate Jay Howard, will continue her 2010 IZOD IndyCar Series season June 5 at Texas Motor Speedway. The race will be telecast live in High Definition (HD) at 8 p.m. (EST) on VERSUS. The race will air live on the IMS Radio Network, XM channel 145 and Sirius channel 211. The radio broadcast also will be carried on www.indycar.com, with broadcast coverage summaries available at www.indycar.com and www.sarahfisher.com.
