Official NASCAR Hall of Fame License Plates Now Available Through the North Carolina DMV
Press Release
NASCAR fans in the state can choose from plates with the NASCAR Hall of Fame logo or a plate to recognize NASCAR Hall of Fame Inaugural Inductee Dale Earnhardt. This marks the first time that a Dale Earnhardt plate has been available in his home state.
With the addition of these plates, North Carolina now offers a selection of 26 different NASCAR and driver specialty plates.
“This may be the best year ever for the North Carolina officially licensed NASCAR plate program,” said Bob Brant, president of Race Plate Marketing, LLC. “The excitement generated by the opening of the Hall of Fame, combined with our first Dale Earnhardt plate should resonate with the NASCAR fan in the state.”
Race Plates offers officially licensed plates in nine different states including Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, New York, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and West Virginia. Beginning in August, plates will be offered in New Jersey and Texas as well. Since 2005, more than 300,000 registered drivers have selected the officially licensed NASCAR plates.
The NASCAR Hall of Fame opened to great fanfare on May 11, 2010. The facility honors the history and heritage of NASCAR and provides 150,000 square feet of interactive family entertainment. On May 23 the inaugural class, which included Dale Earnhardt, Bill France Sr., Bill France Jr., Junior Johnson and Richard Petty, was inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame.
Revenue from the sale of the officially licensed NASCAR plates in North Carolina helps support motorsports programs and education in the state. North Carolina plates are available at your local DMV or online at www.ncdot.org/DMV. Information on all available plates is available at www.raceplates.com
