SONOMA, CA (August 19, 2010) – Heading into the last road course race this season, Team Stargate World / HVM Racing’s Simona De Silvestro rolls into Sonoma with tremendous momentum, posting 2 Top Ten finishes in her last 3 races. Her most recent finish of 8th, at Mid-Ohio, was the best of her rookie IZOD IndyCar season. The stakes are high this weekend as the young 21 year old rookie continues in her quest for the 2010 IndyCar Rookie of the Year award.

While Simona has not raced this course prior to this weekend, she and the HVM Racing Team have shown they can adapt quickly to new courses and needed set ups to be very competitive. Coming from a road course background Simona looks forward to muscling the No. 78 Stargate Resistance entry around the 2.303 mile circuit in hopes of once again earning a top-10 finish and closing in on the Rookie of the Year honors.

The race will be aired live on VERSUS TV at 5:00 pm EST. Radio coverage will be provided on XM Radio Channel 145 and SIRIUS Channel 211. Additional coverage will be provided at www.indycar.com .

Simona De Silvestro, Driver No. 78: “I’m very excited about my Sonoma debut and after the recent positive results we have had in the last couple of races I think we have a fairly good chance this weekend to put up another good result. The Sonoma track looks exciting and I’m sure I will like it. I’m also looking forward to returning back to the west coast.”
