Sparta, Kentucky (September 4, 2010)- Dreyer & Reinbold Racing had another strong performance in tonight’s Kentucky Indy 300 in Sparta, Kentucky. Both DRR drivers, Justin Wilson (No. 22 Z-Line Designs), and Paul Tracy (No. 24 Motegi Racing Wheels), endured plenty of action during the 200 lap race. The duo finished in 11th and 12th positions for the event.

As the green flag dropped, Wilson had a good, strong start. On the first lap, he started 16th and gained two positions. He continued to stay out of trouble and methodically worked his way up the grid. The Brit came in for fuel and tires on Lap 54 and filtered out in 16th position. From that moment on, it was a matter of getting the car just right on pit stops. Wilson came in on laps 84, 91, 144 and 194 for fuel, tires and some turns of front wing. As a result, he would climb his way up the grid, earning a result of 11th position.

Tracy proved that he was a true pro on the ovals and didn’t show that it had been almost six years since he has competed on a mile-and-a-half oval. This weekend was the first time that the Canadian has run at Kentucky Speedway. Tracy started 23rd and battled his way up the field. The caution came out on Lap 1 and he came in on Lap 6 for fuel only. In the beginning of the race he suffered from under-steer, but that didn’t last long.

Tracy made impressive passes and would work his way up to 16th position. The Canadian led for two laps before pitting on Lap 57 for fuel and tires. He would come in again on Laps 84 and 144 for fuel and tires and on Lap 193 for fuel only. With the help of some fast pit stop action, Tracy finished in 12th position.

Dreyer & Reinbold Racing will head back to Indianapolis as they will have a couple of days to prepare their cars before heading to Japan for the Japan Indy 300 on September 18th. For more updates on the team, please visit www.dreyerreinboldracing.com.

What they have to say…

Justin Wilson, No. 22 Z-Line Designs: “It was a long, tough race. It was flat out – we were in top gear the whole time and we were just trying to keep up with the pack ahead. The Z-Line Designs car was pretty nice and we had some good pit stops. The guys did well and we are fairly happy with that. Now, we just need to go away and work out how to make the car quicker. I think we’re getting there.”

Paul Tracy, No. 24 Motegi Racing Wheels: “Tonight was great. It’s been a long time since I’ve done this style of racing. We started in the back and worked our way forward and the Motegi Racing Wheels / Dad’s Root Beer car was great tonight. I got going and kept getting better and better through the race. We got separated from the pack and had a little bit of an imbalance in the car. To come in at 11th and 12th I think is a pretty good result for the team and we are happy with that. This is my first race on a mile-and-a-half in six years and I feel pretty good with how I ran and how the team performed.”

About Dreyer & Reinbold Racing:

Dreyer & Reinbold Racing is entering its 11th season of full-time competition in 2010, making it one of the longest-tenured teams in Indy Racing League competition. Current co-owners, Dennis Reinbold and Robbie Buhl, first teamed in full-time competition at the Walt Disney World Speedway in January of 2000. With Buhl behind the wheel, the two owners tasted victory in their debut race. The 2009 IZOD IndyCar Series season-opener on the streets of St. Petersburg marked Dreyer & Reinbold Racing’s 200th series start.

DRR now has over 250 starts to tuck under its belt and has qualified a total of 27 cars for the Indianapolis 500. In its history, the team has boasted a championship list of alumni drivers. Besides Buhl, the team has run Indianapolis 500 winners, Al Unser, Jr., Buddy Lazier, and Buddy Rice, along with IndyCar Series race winner, Ryan Briscoe. The team has one of the longest lines of heritage in American open-wheel racing and the Indianapolis 500 as Dennis Reinbold’s grandfather, “Pop” Dreyer, built leading roadsters that raced at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway during the 30s, 40s, and 50s.
