Primary sponsor for Clint Bowyer and the No. 33 Chevrolet for three
races and associate for the remaining NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races

HARTFORD, CONN. (February 24, 2010) – The Hartford Financial Services Group, Inc. (NYSE: HIG), today announced its 2010 sponsorship of Richard Childress Racing’s No. 33 Chevrolet Impala and driver Clint Bowyer. For the second straight year, the company is the primary sponsor of the No. 33 Chevrolet for three NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races and an associate sponsor for the remaining events. .

“The RCR sponsorship is a wonderful experience for our customers and employees,” said Mitch Jawitz, Vice President, The Hartford. “This year, we plan to offer even more ways for NASCAR fans to get involved with the racing experience. Just like Bowyer’s pit crew, The Hartford team is fanatical about keeping our driver’s lives moving forward uninterrupted.”

The Hartford’s No. 33 primary paint-outs will run at Darlington Raceway on May 8, Pocono Raceway on August 1 and the Auto Club Speedway in Fontana on October 10. Throughout the race season, the company, which celebrates its 200th anniversary this year, will highlight its bicentennial and provide opportunities for fans to engage with the Richard Childress Racing team. This will include contests, sweepstakes and giveaways, as well as exclusive promotions for members of The Hartford Racing Club.

The Hartford will also be an associate sponsor of RCR driver Jeff Burton in the Sprint Cup Series. Both Bowyer and Burton will serve as spokespeople for The Hartford focusing on the auto insurance program.

“I’m excited to have The Hartford back on the No. 33 Chevy this season,” said driver Clint Bowyer. “We appreciate all of their support at RCR and love seeing a sponsor give back to the fans like they do. Hopefully, we can help celebrate their bicentennial year on an even larger scale with a trip to Victory Lane.”

2010 marks Bowyer’s fifth full-time season in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and second year driving RCR’s No. 33 Chevrolet Impala. In 146 career Cup Series starts, the Emporia, Kan., native has earned two pole awards, two wins, 21 top-five and 62 top-10 finishes. Additionally, the 30-year-old driver has nine other victories to his credit in NASCAR’s two other top-national series.

This sponsorship adds to The Hartford’s list of sports marketing efforts, which include being an Official Corporate Partner of the NCAA®, a sponsor of men’s and women’s golf, and the founding sponsor of the U.S. Paralympics.
