(Bristol, TN) March 21, 2010 – Just one week after jumping into the top-35 in owner’s points, Tommy Baldwin Racing and Mike Bliss were unable to qualify for Sunday’s Food City 500.  The No. 36 Wave Energy Drink Chevrolet was bumped from the field Friday, just one race away from potentially locking up a starting spot thanks to that top-35 position.

Bliss was 28th fastest in the first practice session Friday, and appeared to be headed towards a nice qualifying run.

“I feel bad for all our fans and for the folks at Wave Energy Drink,” said Bliss.   “The car was good in practice and I felt confident heading into qualifying, unfortunately it was not meant to be for us this week.  I’m going to keep my head up and get ready to get back out there at Martinsville.”

After Jimmie Johnson’s win on Sunday, Tommy Baldwin now sits 38th in owner’s points, 48 points behind 35th position.  Bliss and the team will look to rebound next weekend at Martinsville where Bliss has had a decent amount of success, including six top-ten finishes in NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races.  The Goody’s Fast Pain Relief 500 will be televised live on FOX next Sunday, March 28th, at 1pm EST.
