• Denny Hamlin led six times for 172 laps to earn WIX Filters Lap Leader of the Race honors in today’s Goody’s Fast Pain Relief 500.  Hamlin has now led the most laps in each of the last THREE consecutive races here at Martinsville (674 of 1,509 possible laps).  He collects WIX Filters Lap Leader of the Race honors for the first time this season.

• Hamlin won today’s Goody’s Fast Pain Relief 500 at Martinsville, his first win of the 2010 season and his ninth in 157 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races.  He edged Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Joey Logano by .670 seconds for the victory.

• Hamlin won for the third time in 10 races at Martinsville and for the SECOND CONSECUTIVE time.  His average finish in the last three races at Martinsville is 1.33.

• In 27 career short track races, Hamlin has now led 22 times for 2,090 laps.  He has racked up four wins and 14 top-five finishes in those races.

• UNOFFICIALLY Hamlin is 15^th in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championship standings, 24 points behind 12^th-place Brian Vickers.

• Drivers leading the most laps in the 11 most recent spring races at Martinsville have scored 10 top-10 finishes and six top-fives.

• HAMLIN QUOTES:  “It was an eventful day for us.  The first run we were really able to make some ground up and I knew our car was extremely strong.  Right from the green flag drop we were a ble to make up some positions.  I think we got to sixth.  Had a pit road thing where the car fell on the jack.  I don’t know where that put us back but there were a lot of cars in front of us.  It was very tough back there to try and make up ground but I told Mike [Ford, crew chief] that I felt like we could get back there, up the front, the old fashioned way just driving back up there but it was going to take a little bit longer than what I wanted to.  Hopefully we were going to be able to do some kind of pit strategy to get that track position back.  We just did it the old fashioned way.  We passed the cars back and it was a good day for us.  I told Mike here during practice on Saturday that there was no doubt that we were going to win this race.  I didn’t think it was going to be this hard, or that dramatic at the end, but nonetheless it’s a good feeling.”
