BRAD KESELOWSKI (No. 12 Penske Dodge Charger) Finished 12th

“I’m really proud of this team.  Jay (Guy, crew chief) made some great calls for the second-consecutive race and we were able to gain a lot of track position.  Not many drivers finish in the top-ten in their first race here and we were in position to do that until the last caution.  Now that I have a start under my belt, we should be even better when we come back in the fall.”

JAY GUY (Crew Chief, No. 12 Penske Dodge Charger)

“We played the track position game kind of like we did last week at Bristol.  It’s disappointing not to get qualifying in.  We had to start back in 30th.  We got this Penske Dodge running pretty good in practice for him.  We needed track position, we got it and we maintained it.  There at the end, everything was working out.  I thought we would have a good solid top-10 finish.  We had the bump-and-run put on us there at the end.  Still, it was just a great day for this Penske group.  It was a solid day for points.  Big picture, it was a good day.  Little picture, it was a little disappointing.”

SAM HORNISH JR. (No. 77 Mobil 1 Dodge Charger) Finished 13th

“I don’t know what it was, the flu or something.  I’ve had it once before, but we ran at Talladega the next day.  So, we got to ride quite a bit in that 500-mile race, but 500 laps here, it was a tough day.  We just tried to keep the car in one piece, not have any flat tires and play it smart all day.  We didn’t have a 13th-place car, but we did what we needed to do to stay on the lead lap.  We got the lucky dog a few times.  For the bad luck we’ve had this year, we’re pretty happy about today.  We got the yellow when we needed it a couple of times that kept us up there fighting for a top 15.”

KURT BUSCH (No. 2 Miller Lite Dodge Charger) Finished 23rd

“Man, I just can’t seem to ever catch a break here at this old place.  We led early and then the handling started going away.  Steve (Addington, crew chief) and the guys started working with some wedge and track bar adjustments that brought the car back to life.  We were back up to sixth when we had a loose right-front wheel.  That forced us to pit under green which dropped us two laps down.  We stayed out there under the caution with 75 to go and took the wave-around to get back to just one lap down.  We got ourselves in the lucky dog spot, but just couldn’t get the yellow flag when we needed it.  Just a typical Martinsville race for us.”
