Representatives from The NASCAR Foundation and several other charitable organizations will be out at Talladega Superspeedway this Friday-Sunday encouraging fans to ‘Get Their Pin On’ by donating $5 for a collectible NASCAR Day lapel pin. Local charities that will have a NASCAR Day pin booth at the track include:

Ronald McDonald House Charities® – The NASCAR Foundation has partnered with FOX Sports Supports and Ronald McDonald House Charities this Sunday, April 25, to support Kasey Kahne’s Drive to Care. Proceeds raised through NASCAR Day pin donations collected online will benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities. Kasey’s Drive to Care challenges fans to help him raise $500,000 for a new Ronald McDonald Care Mobile. Kahne kicked off the campaign with a personal donation of $50,000. Volunteers from Ronald McDonald House Charities of Alabama will have a NASCAR Day booth at the track collecting donations as well. To learn more visit www.drivetocare.org.

Susan G. Komen for the Cure North Central Alabama Affiliate - Volunteers from Komen’s North Central Alabama Affiliate will be out at the track Friday-Sunday collecting $5 donations for the 2010 collectible NASCAR Day lapel pin. Ten-year-old off-road racer Hunter Stewart has a very special reason for coming out to volunteer at the Komen NASCAR Day booth. Hunter’s life changed after receiving the troubling news that his mom Alycia had been diagnosed with breast cancer. Hunter, who was later featured on The Ellen Show, decided to take action and donate his allowance for every race lap he completed. Unfortunately Alycia has once again been diagnosed with breast cancer but the family remains hopeful that through continued treatment and research, Alycia will win her battle with breast cancer and help many other women and men who are struggling to beat the disease.

As a result of the 2009 partnership with Susan G. Komen for the Cure, The NASCAR Foundation contributed enough funds to pay for a four-year college scholarship through the Susan G. Komen Scholarship Fund – a fund specifically designed for children whose mothers have lost their battle against cancer.

Alabama Gold Star Families and the American Red Cross Talladega Chapter will also have NASCAR Day booths at the track.

Fans can get their NASCAR Day pins at any one of the NASCAR Day booths at Talladega Superspeedway, at their local Bass Pro Shops or online at WWW.NASCAR.COM/NASCARDay.

Annually celebrated on the third Friday in May, NASCAR Day is a charitable celebration of the NASCAR spirit that enables fans and partners to join together to make a difference in the lives of children. NASCAR Day encourages fans to make a $5 donation for a collectible lapel pin which in turn will support programs that help children live happier, healthier lives.
