LENOX will be the No. 31 team’s primary sponsor at the June 27 LENOX Industrial Tools 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, and both Jeff Burton and Richard Childress will support LENOX through customer appearances and advertising.
The RCR partnership will also serve as a platform to honor the life of Pete Dingeman, the 2009 “LENOX Extra Mile Hero.” Pete dedicated his life to supporting the Children’s Tumor Foundation (CTF) and last year donated his entire $31,000 winnings from LENOX to support this cause. Sadly, Pete passed away in December of last year after a life-long battle with neurofibromatosis (NF). In recognition of his heroic efforts, a decal honoring Pete will be placed on the No. 31 paint scheme, and the 2010 LENOX Industrial Tools 301 will be dedicated to him.
“We are so pleased to continue the LENOX partnership with Jeff Burton and the entire RCR organization,” said Bill Burke, LENOX president. “Our customers, end users and employees really enjoy being part of this program and we look forward to seeing the No. 31 LENOX paint scheme in the LENOX Industrial Tools 301 again this year.”
Burton is currently ninth in the 2010 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series point standings with 15 races remaining until the 2010 Chase field is set.
“Richard Childress Racing is proud to continue its association with LENOX Industrial Tools for a fourth season on the No. 31 team,” said Richard Childress, president and chief executive officer of Richard Childress Racing. “LENOX promotes its products and services to its users by going the extra mile, and this year’s race promotion for the LENOX Industrial Tools 301 is no exception. It’s great to work with a company that understands going that extra mile is what makes the difference.”
