Ford Racing, 2010 NSCS Gillette Fusion ProGlide 500 Race Recaps
Press Release
AJ ALLMENDINGER – No. 43 Best Buy Ford Fusion (Finished 10th) – “That is just the way this race works out. The track is so long, especially with the wave around now, you can get your lap back and then there is another yellow and those guys are the ones that look pretty. I am happy to get a 10th out of it, even though I thought we were a seventh or eighth place car. The new engine felt really fast, so that is a real positive sign going forward.”
CAN YOU EXPLAIN WHAT HAPPENED ON THE FINAL LAP? “I am not really sure what happened. Kasey had such a run on me and I went to defend. By the time I defended he was in the grass. That is my bad. I feel bad about that, I really do. It is what it is though.”
GREG BIFFLE – No. 16 3M Ford Fusion (Finished 28th) – ON THE FRANTIC FINAL LAP CRASH “I don’t know what his deal is. He totally caused that whole thing. If he is driving that blue car with the 43 on the side that put Kasey into the grass then yeah, it is on him. He ran him down on the grass. You can’t run a guy down on the grass. You can’t run your teammate down onto the grass. That is horrible. He could have backed out of that before he put him down like that.”
WHAT ABOUT YOUR RUN TODAY? “Our run was so so. We were probably a fifth place car I think. We would have ended up about between 10th and 15th there without what happened there at the end. That was hairy there at the end. “
DAVID RAGAN – No. 6 UPS Ford Fusion (Finished 26th) – “From the first run to the last run, our UPS Ford was really all over the track today. Donnie Wingo and the guys made some great calls in the pits to get us back on the lead lap, but that last wreck at the end was really the knife through the heart. I thought we could have finished in the top 20 had it not been for that last wreck. I don’t know what happened in the front of the field, but we got slowed down in the middle of the pack and the track was basically stopped. I’m definitely glad that Pocono is over. We’ll go back to the shop and learn some things from this, but I’m looking forward to going to Michigan next weekend.”
