Singing, Story Telling Session will Benefit Victory Junction Gang

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (September 6, 2010) – NASCAR driver and broadcast personality Kyle Petty will showcase one of his other known talents at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, October 13 at Puckett’s Farm Equipment in Charlotte, N.C. Petty, along with several noted musicians, will kick off the Charlotte race week festivities with the first annual KP and Friends, A Song Swap to Benefit the Victory Junction Gang Camp.

Motorsports journalist and author Monte Dutton, singer-songwriter and co-host of “Big Ass Happy Family Jubilee” on Sirius Satellite Radio Roger Alan Wade, as well as Sunny Ledfurd, who has six self-produced and released albums, will be joining Petty for the event. The four artists will be seated on stage and take turns telling stories and singing their original works in a laidback, acoustic format.

A few more Kyle’s friends will include, MRN president David Hyatt, noted Carolina musicians Travis Powell, Jem Crossland, and a couple others as they drop in to showcase some of their songs during the night.

Puckett’s Farm Equipment is an “old school” honky tonk rich in racing heritage. Motorsports memorabilia from all of NASCAR’s eras lines the walls, making it the perfect venue to start the Charlotte race week activities.

Most importantly, 100% of the door will be given to the Victory Junction Gang Camp. Commemorative, limited edition posters will available at the event for $25, also benefiting the VJGC. The artists will be open to sign the posters at the conclusion of the session. The cast of performers hopes to raise as much money as possible for the noble cause and lay a solid foundation for the event to grow for years to come.
