Tuesday
This Week in Ford Racing (Sept. 28, 2010) with NSCS Driver, Carl Edwards
Press Release
CARL EDWARDS – No. 99 Aflac Ford Fusion – WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO BE SUCCESSFUL THERE? “Kansas takes everything. It takes a good engine, good qualifying effort, pit crew. The biggest thing I think it takes is a crew chief that understands how to make that car work through a long run there. So much happens at Kansas. The cars get tight, or they get loose in and you’ve got to really have a good crew chief. Fuel mileage is gonna be key, too.”
WHAT DISTINGUISHES THAT TRACK FROM THE OTHER 1.5-MILE TRACKS LEFT IN THE CHASE? “It’s really simple what distinguishes Kansas for me, it’s Kansas. It’s two hours from home. It’s the fans. That place is just awesome.”
IS THAT THE TRACK YOU WANT TO WIN AT MORE THAN ANY OTHER BECAUSE OF THE LOCATION? “Yeah. I was fortunate to win the truck race there at Kansas. That was a huge victory and to win the Cup race would be unbelievable. That would be great.”
