Meg Whitman to Serve as Grand Marshal for Pepsi MAX 400

As Grand Marshal, the former eBay President and CEO, will give the command, “Gentlemen, Start Your Engines,” to the 43-car field of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. The event will be televised at noon on ESPN.
Through the years Whitman’s career led her to key executive positions at some of America’s best‐known companies, including Disney, Stride Rite, FTD and Hasbro.
In the fall of 1997 she met the founder of a tiny start‐up company called eBay. She served as President and CEO from 1998-2008. When she joined eBay, the company had just $4.7 million in revenues and 30 employees; when she retired in March of 2008, ten years later, the company
had nearly $8 billion in revenues and 15,000 employees worldwide.
