CONCORD, N.C. (Oct. 27, 2010) – Roush Fenway won at Phoenix International Raceway on Oct. 31, 1993; the first time the organization had ever taken a green flag on Halloween. The No. 6 car, then driven by Mark Martin, led 212 laps on the day en route to a treat sweeter than a piece of candy corn; a trip to victory lane.

The Sprint Cup series would not race again “Trick or Treat” day until 2004, with the No. 6 car almost repeating the feat, leading a race-high 227 laps in Atlanta, but coming up a few laps short of the win. Then rookie Carl Edwards finished just behind in third and Greg Biffle gave Roush Fenway three cars in the top 10 with a 10th-place finish.

All-in-all Roush Fenway has led 454 laps in Sprint Cup action in races run on Halloween day.

In addition, Edwards won in Atlanta on the eve of Halloween in 2005, being joined inside the top five by teammates Martin and Matt Kenseth, in one of the most successful days in Roush Fenway history, with Biffle finishing seventh to give the organization four cars in the top seven.

Then Roush Fenway driver Jamie McMurray  and the No. 26 team won last season at Talladega on the day after Halloween, with Biffle finishing fourth in the event, providing proof that the Roush Fenway cars heat up as the autumn leaves begin to fall.

This weekend Roush Fenway will look to add to its Halloween legend, taking up where it left off in 2004 as the circuit rolls into Talladega Superspeedway for what many term affectionately, Hallo-Dega.
