The Night Before Christmas
By Granny Grump
The stockings were hung where the chimney should be and the tree was so pretty with strung cranberries.
Duck came home finally, in bed safe and warm and the rest of the animals were out in the barn.
Then I heard such a racket and opened the door and in came Mark Martin and so many more.
There was Jeff, there was JR, and the same Champ Jimmie and he handed me Kyle who I put o’er my knee.
I gave him a talkin’ so loud and so clear, let’s see if things change in the comin’ new year.
The chatter was fun and the laughter so sweet, then I realized I was dreamin’. I had fallen asleep.
What a wonderful vision. It all seemed so clear but I woke up knowin’ it’s neither here nor there.
Course it could still happen someday, sometime when racers love Granny like Granny loves them.
Til then I’ll keep writin’ as time says I can cause we all know that Granny’s a busy woman.
I’ll close by just sayin’ y’all listen, ya hear? Merry Christmas, stay safe and be good all next year.
And that goes for y’all and all racers, please do and of course that includes Kyle and Danica too.
I’m not bein’ pushy, but I”m just a sayin’, listen to Granny and keep on a prayin’.
Know what I mean?
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Granny Grump, Duck and everyone at Catchfence, of course.

Why in the world would you group Kyle and Danica in the same sentence? About as opposite as you can get. One’s a racer in the same style as Dale Earnhardt and the other is a media personality who hasn’t even master her own series. Sit JJ on your knee and put a curse on him.
“and keep on a prayin’.” Will do, Granny. :) Merry Christmas to you.
