March 22, 2010 (Mooresville, N.C.) - Germain Racing will unveil a fresh new paint scheme on the No. 30 Germain.com Tundra at Martinsville Speedway for Saturday’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Kroger 250. The paint scheme is part of a kick-off for a key sales season for Germain Motor Company, a Top-25 ranked automotive retail network according to Automotive News. The scheme also represents Germain Racing’s continued search for a primary sponsor for the No. 30 Tundra driven by 2006 Truck Series champion Todd Bodine. Bodine and the No. 30 Germain.com Tundra have combined for 17 wins, five pole awards and the series title since joining the Truck Series in 2004. The No. 30 Tundra has more wins than any other Tundra.

“March is the beginning of a huge sales season for the Germain Motor Company so this is a great time for our race team to unveil our new Germain.com Tundra paint scheme,” said Bodine, who last raced in Germain Motor Company logos at Martinsville in 2005. “With the sales incentives that Toyota is presenting to new car and truck customers, I can’t think of a better time to use the No. 30 Tundra to invite shoppers to visit Germain.com or a local Germain dealership.”

Martinsville Speedway is a track with regional appeal, drawing fans from neighboring states to see the exciting action that the flat, tight-cornered short track can produce. Germain.com is seeing exponential growth in regional car shopping. Germain Racing team owner and president of Germain Motor Company, Steve Germain, explains.

“The internet is making car-buying a regional process. We are seeing customers from outside the reach of our retail locations in Florida, Ohio and Arkansas that are buying cars from Germain Motor Company because they have shopped at Germain.com and found the new or used car or truck they’ve been looking for,” explained Germain, who is based in Germain Motor Company’s home territory of Columbus, OH.

In order to prepare the No. 30 Germain.com Tundra to be a top-competitor at Martinsville, Bodine, crew chief Mike Hillman Jr. and the team went testing with the freshly rebuilt racing chassis, TRD-122.

“With NASCAR’s testing rules limiting teams to testing at tracks that don’t host Truck, Nationwide or Cup Series races, it’s hard to test for racing at Martinsville. The track is very unique. So you test to shake down the truck and to learn trends and theories about the truck. That said, we liked our test setup enough that, even though we tested at Motor Mile which is nothing like Martinsville, we are starting our practice at Martinsville with the setup we had on the Germain.com Tundra at the test,” said Bodine, who has competed in 12 Truck Series races at Martinsville, completing 2606 of 2607 laps.

Hillman Jr. explains that TRD-122, though it has raced at tracks from Michigan to Phoenix, is basically a new, short-track race truck for the No. 30 Tundra team.

“This year we did a ground-up rebuild on this chassis. Germain Racing continues to search for sponsors but we are also continuing with the philosophy that has made the No. 30 truck the leader over all other Tundra programs. We never prepare to just ‘do a good job’ for a race weekend, we bring our best equipment and we come prepared to win. To do that, you have to continue to research and develop new race trucks,” said Hillman.

Look for Bodine to race the No. 30 Germain.com Tundra Saturday at 2:00 PM ET at Martinsville Speedway with live coverage on SPEED and MRN. Qualifying is at 4:40 PM on Friday. Follow the team @GermainRacing on Twitter or become a Facebook fan of Germain Racing.

Germain Racing has earned two or more wins in each of six NASCAR racing seasons. The championship team has sponsorship opportunities available now. Visit GermainRacing.com, “Be a Sponsor” for information.
