Race Notes and Quotes:

· This Week’s Bass Pro Shops Chevrolet at Nashville Superspeedway … Austin Dillon will pilot chassis No. 002 from the Richard Childress Racing NASCAR Camping World Truck Series stable in this weekend’s Nashville 200. This chassis, built in-house by the Danny Stockman-led Bass Pro Shops team, made its first on-track appearance at Atlanta Motor Speedway in March, where Dillon finished 10th after starting fifth.

· Moving Up… With his 16th-place finish in Saturday’s Kroger 250 at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway, Austin Dillon advanced six spots in the series’ point standings to take control of ninth position. He was the NASCAR Raybestos Rookie of the Race at Martinsville and leads the series’ overall rookie standings.

· Meet the Driver … Dillon will participate in a NCWTS driver autograph session at the Expo area near Gate 3 at Nashville Superspeedway from 1-2 p.m. on Friday, April 2.

As a rookie, how do you prepare for Nashville and other tracks where you have no prior experience?

“I have never been to Nashville so I’m sure that I’ll go to (Kevin) Harvick and some of the other veteran drivers in the Series to get some information about the track, such as where the lifting points are. I have a racing simulator that I use at home all of the time to help me prepare for races so I will race on it and also watch a lot of videos of Nashville races.

We try to go to the truck as prepared as we can and then learn from practice when we get there. I think practice will be really important because, if we can learn the track fast, we can adjust on the truck so we can go make laps and figure out how the truck drives and where it is supposed to be on the track.”

Have you learned a lot from racing in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series this season?

“It’s a fun series. When you get up racing with the guys that have run it a long time, they race you really hard and it makes you that much better as a driver.”

Are you a country music fan?

“Oh yeah, I love country music. It would be awesome to get the guitar (the Nashville Superspeedway trophy). I like old country, new country, a little bit of everything. I listen to classic country with my grandfather.”
