April 26, 2010 (Mooresville, N.C.) - Germain Racing and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver Todd Bodine have long been a known threat to win at any mile-and-a-half race track that they visit. Kansas Speedway is no exception. When Germain Racing paired Todd Bodine with then rookie crew chief Mike Hillman Jr., they went to victory lane in their fourth race together– Kansas Speedway, 2005. The pair has amassed impressive performances at the D-shaped oval and they expect nothing less for this weekend’s O’Reilly Auto Parts 250.

“We’re ready to race after this long break. We’re going to Kansas Speedway this year with a little bit different setup and we’ll see how that works for the Germain.com Tundra,” explains Bodine, who says the Kansas facility is a mile and a half circuit that suits his style. “Kansas is a good track for the No. 30 team. It’s an intermediate track where you carry a lot of momentum and that suits my driving style as well as the team’s chassis setups. I think that’s part of why we seem to run well at those types of race tracks.”

The Germain.com Tundra crew is also very ready to get back to racing, according to crew chief Mike Hillman Jr.

“Racing is always on our minds so the long break was no different. We’ve been busy utilizing TRD resources like the shaker rig and wind tunnel to keep improving our race trucks. And Germain Racing is one team with three Camry teams racing and two Tundra teams, so, whenever we have a break in the Truck Series schedule, we find things we can do to fill-in with our other programs. After all the research we’ve done, we’re certainly ready to get back to racing,” said Hillman.

When Bodine wasn’t discussing chassis ideas with Hillman, the Truck Series champion spent some time exchanging hobbies in the off-weeks and installing flooring for a friend.

“Well there aren’t many projects left to do at my house, so I guess I’ve kind of traded-in the home-improvement hobby for a hot rod hobby. I bought a 1939 Studebaker Commander and I’m working on making it into a hot rod,” said Bodine, who also installed Lumber Liquidators flooring for a friend.

Hillman and the Germain Racing crew are bringing TRD-131 back to the track to race at Kansas. The chassis made its race track debut in Nashville last month.

“Anytime Germain Racing is racing at a speedway, or intermediate track, we are confident in our equipment. We are bringing TRD-131 to Kansas because we liked what we saw in Nashville. We think it’s our best truck for Kansas,” said Hillman. “We see a lot of friends and old sponsors of the Germain.com Tundra and Todd Bodine when we are in Kansas, so we definitely want our best equipment there to showcase what this Germain Racing team can do.”

Look for Bodine in the No. 30 Germain.com Tundra starting with practice on Saturday morning, May 1st, at 10:00 AM Eastern. Final practice follows at 11:40 with qualifying Saturday afternoon at 4:35 PM ET. On Sunday, May 2nd, Bodine will race for 167 laps/250.5 miles in the O’Reilly Auto Parts 250 with live coverage on SPEED and MRN. Racing begins at 1:00 PM Eastern.
