Sandusky, Oh. (April 26, 2010) – Johnny Sauter heads into the fifth race of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season looking to build some consistency. Sauter’s team has performed well throughout the season but racing luck hasn’t allowed the team to score finishes that reflect their performance. Returning to a 1.5-mile speedway, where Sauter and crew chief Joe Shear, Jr. performed so well throughout the final half of 2009, should allow Sauter to get back on the right track.

It’s been a while since the Trucks raced; how ready are you to get back on track and start racing on a more regular basis?

“We’ve had great trucks this season but we haven’t had any luck to get the finishes we need. So we’re really ready to get back on track and start racing every week. We need to build some momentum and some consistency and get things turned around. This team is capable of winning and we’ve learned some things about our trucks during the time off and we can’t wait to get back on the track and go racing.”

How similar is Kansas to some of the other intermediate tracks?

“There are some similarities to some of the other tracks. I really like racing at Kansas and I’ve had some really good runs there. There’s some similarity to Las Vegas so we’ll put a setup that has a lot of what we used at Las Vegas and we expect to be really good right off the trailer. Kansas Speedway has started to age a little and it’s lost some of its grip and that makes it more fun for the drivers. We’ll slip and slide a little more and it puts it more in the driver’s hands. I can’t wait to get there and I think you’ll see us have a good chance at winning.”

What do you need to do at Kansas to get to victory lane?

“The guys have worked non-stop on our trucks over this break. We’ve learned some things we were doing that we probably shouldn’t have been doing and we learned some things we should be doing. The guys have been working really hard on their pit stops too. The team as a whole has run really well on the mile-and-a-half tracks over the last three or four years and the 13 did last year too. With all that’s happened over the past four weeks I am even more confident than I was last year at this time.”

For the second consecutive race, In Country Television will appear on the hood and quarter panels of the ThorSport Racing No. 13 Chevrolet. What A Horse, a featuring the Tennessee Walking Horse, will also appear on the hood. What A Horse will appear on In Country Television starting May 3 at 9 P.M. Eastern. Johnny at Ronald McDonald House: Along with his ThorSport Racing teammate Matt Crafton, Johnny Sauter will visit the Ronald McDonald House in Kansas City on Friday April 30. Sauter will tour the facility and playground being built in memory of former Sprint marketing exec Tom Murphy. “Tom was a great guy and did a lot for our sport,” Sauter said. “It’s cool to have this playground built in his honor through the NASCAR Foundation. We’re going to donate a lot of Fun Sand for a sandbox. It will be fun to go visit the kids and their families and talk racing for a while and take their minds off some of the things they’re going through in their lives.”

Johnny’s Kansas Truck: Johnny will race ThorSport Chassis No. 23. He raced it earlier this season at Atlanta and drove it to victory last September at Las Vegas.

Johnny at Kansas: Johnny has one Sprint Cup start (finished 23rd in 2007), six Nationwide Series starts (best finish third in 2005), and one previous Camping World Truck Series start at Kansas Speedway. Last season Sauter finished ninth after starting 12th. He completed all 132 laps after the race was shortened due to rain.
