MOORESVILLE, N.C. (May 11, 2010) - As intimidating as Dover International Speedway is, Jennifer Jo Cobb is confident she will leave the Monster Mile with a solid finish. Cobb’s expecting her previous experience at I-70 Speedway in Odessa, Mo., along with a healthy respect for Dover, to pay dividends for her No. 10 Driven team on race day.

Cobb Comments on the Dover 200:

“I’m not too intimidated about racing at Dover (International Speedway) for the first time. I do go in with a lot of respect, though. The tracks that are known for being hard on rookies, and that everyone is afraid of, I tend to do better at. I know when we went to Martinsville my team was concerned because it had been so long since I had been on a short track and we came out of there unscathed. I’m really looking forward to this weekend because I think it’s an opportunity for our team to shine. Kansas was one of those times that everyone expected us to do well and it wasn’t a great outcome. I think Dover is one of those tracks where everyone expects to see a rookie struggle, but I think we can actually turn some heads here because we’ll be applying our philosophy of being smart, conservative and being there at the end. Hopefully that will lead us to our best finish of the season.

“For almost 10 years I raced at I-70 Speedway in Odessa, Missouri. That’s where I learned to drive a race car. It was a 33 degree banked, asphalt oval, about a half-mile. It was really narrow and tight coming off turn four. I think that’s what keeps me from being intimidated by tracks like Bristol and Dover because it’s a little bit like going home. When I first went to I-70 Speedway, I was a frail 21-year-old. I got spun out and it happened so quick. It was a real wakeup call. It’s kind of fun to think of all those years of experience of every level I had at I-70 Speedway and be able to compare it to these high-banked, monster-type tracks.”
