Daytona International Speedway To Celebrate NASCAR Day 2010 on May 21st

NASCAR Day is an annual celebration of the NASCAR spirit. NASCAR fans, corporations, schools and organizations across the country are encouraged to donate $5 and all participants will receive a collectible 2010 NASCAR Day lapel pin for their donation.
Daytona International Speedway and Daytona 500 Experience will celebrate NASCAR Day on Friday, May 21st between noon – 2 p.m. with lunch specials, raffles and music outside of “The Official Attraction of NASCAR.” The Florida Blood Centers will also be on site from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Race fans can get their NASCAR Day pins at Daytona 500 Experience, where all proceeds from NASCAR Day pin donations at the attraction stay in the local community and benefit Speediatrics, the pediatric care unit at Halifax Medical Center in Daytona Beach.
“We welcome our race fans to join us in front of the attraction on May 21st and encourage them to wear their favorite NASCAR gear and NASCAR Day pin,” Daytona International Speedway President Robin Braig said.
In addition to the celebration outside Daytona 500 Experience, Bank of America and The NASCAR Foundation along with NASCAR legend Rusty Wallace will host 100 local middle school students at Daytona International Speedway for the Bank of America “Students at the Speedway” program to help celebrate NASCAR Day.
Students from David C. Hinson Senior Middle, Indian Trail Middle, Buddy Taylor Middle and Campbell Middle will spend NASCAR Day at the “World Center of Racing” participating in a variety of activities designed to show students the critical role that science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) play in the sport of NASCAR.
Bank of America’s Students at the Speedway program helps students who are learning about STEM in the classroom to apply them to real life in a fun and engaging way, while exposing them to the kinds of exciting careers they can go on to enjoy by concentrating on these important subjects.
