After seven races in the 2010 season, the top-ten in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series is bunched tight with only twenty-seven points separating fifth through tenth in the standings. SS Green Light Racing’s Jason White finds himself solidly in the middle of the point’s battle, currently sitting ninth in the rundown as the truckers head to the fast mile and a half at the Texas Motor Speedway.

White finished sixteenth in the 2009 standings and the Virginia native is proud of the progress his team has made this year. “We’ve had a good start to 2010, we’ve had some decent runs and a couple of very good runs,” said White. “We got in somebody else’s mess at Martinsville and that cost us, but it’s a twenty-five race season and we just have to keep on our program and if we do that it will all work out.”

The team set lofty goals before the start of the 2010 season; a victory, a pole and a top-five finish in the points and as the series closes on the one-third mark, the GunBroker.com bunch has accomplished one of the goals by wining the pole at Daytona in the season opener. White has one hundred more points and is eight positions higher in the standings at this point in 2010 as he did in 2009. Jason’s average finish is almost five positions better than last year.

White had success at the Dallas high-banked quad-oval last season and he looks for more this weekend. “We finished eighth and eleventh there last year,” White said. “We’re going to bring “50-Cal” again this week. It’s the same truck that we ran at Charlotte and Atlanta. It’s a really good truck and I have a lot of confidence in it.”

“I’m excited to get to Texas, the truck was good at Charlotte, but it took us a couple laps to get going. I hope this week we can get some longer green flag runs and keep the GunBroker.com truck up front.” Jason explained. “We are going to have a fresh Dodge powerplant for Texas.”

“Doug (crew chief Doug Howe) and the guys have been working real hard back at the shop and the results show in the standings.”

SS Green Light general manager Bobby Dotter can see the progress. “We ran Jason just a couple years ago we were looking for top-fifteen finishes,” Dotter explained. “This year Jason is racing for top-fives, when you can run consistently up front is where you can create your opportunities to win and everyone is working hard to get the program on the GunBroker.com truck to that point.”

There will be two Thursday practice sessions for the WinStar World Casino 400k at the Texas Motor Speedway with qualifying at 7:00pm. The race will be shown live on SPEED TV at 9:00pm Friday June 4th and will also be broadcast live on MRN Radio and Sirius NASCAR Radio 128.
