MOORESVILLE, N.C. (July 6, 2010) - Jennifer Jo Cobb’s No. 10 Driven team has come a long way since the start of the 2010 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) season. She has the results to prove it, too. Cobb averaged a 26.8-place finish at the first five events this year. After making a few key personnel changes, including the hiring of crew chief Steve Kuykendall, Cobb’s average finish improved to 18.75-place over the last four events.

Cobb has one prior start at a short track in NCWTS competition, which came at Martinsville Speedway this season. Cobb started in 14th-place and was forced into the pits with just a few laps left due to mechanical failure, posting a 26th-place finish. Cobb hopes her results this week at Iowa Speedway will reflect her team’s upswing.

Cobb Comments on the Lucas Oil 200:

“I’m so much more prepared for Iowa than when I went to Martinsville (Speedway). Our team has only grown stronger since March. We have become a lot more competitive. It feels like we’re in a different league now. We’ll be doing a short track swing over the next few races, hitting Iowa and ORP, so I’m really excited about going to those places and gauging how far we’ve come.

“I’m ready for the rubbing action that you get with short track racing. I think it’s going to be fun and right back to my short track racing roots. It’s always exciting when you get to beat and bang on each other. When you race under the lights and the sparks fly, that’s what this sport is all about.

“I think that short tracks have a more level playing field than some of the bigger tracks we race. The teams with bigger budgets don’t have quite as big of an advantage with the equipment and the driver becomes a bigger factor. Our team’s disadvantage of going to a short track is that I’m a little green. Until this year, I hadn’t been to a short track in ten years, even though they’re my roots. The advantage we have is from a personnel standpoint. I really believe in our crew chief Steve Kuykendall and the rest of this racing team. I think these Driven Ford F-150s are really going to step it up. Horsepower isn’t going to come as much into play, so if I can get it stepped up as a driver, I know this team is ready to play.”
