Justin Lofton / Red Horse Racing Chicagoland Speedway Preview
Press Release
Chicagoland Speedway
August 27, 2010
Last time out…
Lofton added another successful run to his resume last Wednesday on the high banks at Bristol Motor Speedway. He started the event from the 15th position, avoided trouble on the half-mile bullring, made the right calls on pit road, and finessed his way through the field to notch a stellar fifth place finish. The result gave Lofton and the Mark Rette led No. 7 team their third top-five and fourth top-10 of the season. On the verge… Lofton’s fifth place finish in Bristol allowed him to make up substantial ground in the point standings. He remains in the 12th spot entering this week’s race at Chicagoland, but he isn’t far from the elusive top-10. Courtesy of his top-five last week in Bristol, Lofton is now only 21 points shy of the 11th position, and a mere 41 out of 10th.
He knows Chicago… Though Lofton has showed his ability on other intermediate tracks this season throughout the Camping World Truck Series schedule, his history at Chicagoland Speedway is impressive on its own. En route to the 2009 ARCA Racing Series championship, Lofton scored the win last August. Under the guidance of crew chief Mark Rette, he led 55 laps of the 100-lap race.
Catch him on-air and in line… Fans interested in catching up with Lofton can do so this Friday. Lofton will call in to NASCAR Radio, Sirius/XM channel 128 at 1:05 ET for his regular spot on the Tradin’ Paint show. For fans attending activities at the track on Friday, they can meet Lofton, along with other NCWTS competitors, as he signs autographs behind the front stretch grandstand from 1 to 2 PM Central time.

Crew Chief Mark Rette on Chicagoland Speedway: “We’ve had success at Chicagoland in the past. I’ve been to victory lane a few times; once in the Nationwide Series with Casey Mears, and last year with Justin – that was a lot of fun in the ARCA car. I’m looking forward to returning this week. We’re taking the same truck we had earlier this year at Michigan.”
Equipment Information: Lofton will race chassis RHR65 this week at Chicago. It is the same truck that the No. 7 team ran in June at Michigan, finishing 18th.
